Teen sports can have an immensely positive impact on teen well-being. Not only do sports reduce stress levels, they also give teens ways to bond and practice collaboration, while reaping the physical and mental health benefits of exercising.

  • Teens who get regular vigorous exercise are 25 percent less likely to develop an anxiety disorder over the next 5 years

  • Physically active kids have higher levels of excitement and enthusiasm as compared to those who are less active

  • Individuals with trauma have a significantly lower chance of being diagnosed with depression or anxiety if they participate in sports

  • Studies have shown that kids who participate in sports are less likely to engage in risky behaviors such as smoking, drinking and drug use. This is likely because sports provides kids with a positive outlet for their energy and emotions, and it can also help them develop healthy relationships with their peers.
